inspiring wedding & event florals

This past July we had the utmost pleasure of designing the bright and happy florals for the wedding of the adorable couple, Chris and Jacquelyn. What a completely fun and fresh design captured by the extremely talented Josh McCullock Photography! We are loving the modern earth tones of the fabrics and the bright green and yellow florals together. They compliment one another perfectly, not to mention those gorgeous shades of gray in the Groom’s suit and the Bridesmaids’ dresses. Set up in the modern white-washed venue Living Arts of Tulsa, this design has modern-chic written all over it. Everything works together absolutely perfectly.

The bride’s and bridesmaids’ bouquets are a yellow and green dream, filled with brightly colored blooms of Hydrangea, Roses, Cymbidium Orchids, Dendrobium Orchids, Billy Balls, Green Button Mums, and Daisies. For the Groom, a single, large, green Cymbidium Orchid boutonniere was the perfect choice– accenting the bride’s bouquet that was beautifully filled with this gorgeous flower.

We are particularly fond of the various centerpieces throughout the reception hall. We worked with four primary “types” of centerpieces, all coming and working together to make one grand modern green and yellow design. For the bright yellow centerpieces we chose delicate, long-stemmed Oncidium Orchids. The texture of this particular orchid is very intricate and fragile, and really brought out that big pop of color and design we wanted. For the green-colored centerpieces we chose foliage in three different shades of green. For the deep green shade we chose one of our favorite leaves, the Monstera Deliciosa. It’s shape is very tropical and it splays widely, making for an excellent centerpiece choice if you’re going for a simple, tall, and wide look. We love how the the leaves just splay out like a canopy.

In running with the tall centerpiece idea, we chose long-stemmed Bells of Ireland. They’re sophisticated and sleek, with a unique texture, too. Their shade of green was the perfect “middle shade”- not too bright, not too dark. And to bring in an oomph of color and to incorporate low centerpieces, we chose those cheerful Green Spider Mums, bunched perfectly into a leaf-wrapped vase.
